Yes, the door panels match the seat. But the seat is pretty faded. The back panels are just black panels, almost like fiber board. It's all original but I have found very little pictures of other cars like it. My car has 37,000 original miles. I have the original bill of sale when it was purchased new in '54. My keys are numbered and they match the numbers on the original bill of sale. Just a little history......

The car is actually a 150 utility sedan.....

A beautiful car.
The rear seat is not a "delete item", instead, as already stated, the car was sold as a specific model, known as a "150 utility sedan".
It was sold as a 3 passenger vehicle, without a rear seat.
It was used by salesmen and reps who could store their products inside, on the rear floor.
Model would have been a 1512 or 54-1211WB.
1st digit on serial number on door jamb would be an "A".

I had a friend in High School (1965) that had a 54 with no back seat. He always said it was a factory experimental car. Another friend had a 62 Impala and said the same about his 409 4 speed car.

Yes, nice car, and now I've also learned something.
Can't beat the combo of chrome wheels, wide whites and gloss black paint IMHO.

 

Mom's first car was a '54, but I understand it wasn't anything like that. Uncle Bob painted it two tone. When he finished the bottom (green) he laid the brush on the top (white), then went to get more beer.

 

I gotta admit that the car is absolutly beautiful and this is coming from a hard core Ford guy.

Just proves building a car with the old school style and keeping it simple will be a winner ever time.

If I were to build a '54 Chevy I would pattern it after your car. HRP

 

Stance can make or break a cars final touch..

Great looking car, can you share details on the suspension set up, what'd you /Phipps do to get the ride height, how's it ride and drive

 

Wide whites, Chrome wheels and nose down stance. It doesn't get any better. Nice looking ride.

The front suspension is stock except for 2-1/2" coils cut off the springs and fatman fab 1-1/2" dropped spindles. The car ride great, but the steering radius is greatly reduced. It takes alot of planned turns.......

Working on that now. I have two sets of wheels and tires so i bought new 6.70 Firestone black walls and 3-1/4" whites. I just haven't had time to mount them yet........

That is a fantastic car, I have a real soft spot for 54 chevs. You did this right. Very cool with the Utillity option, I learned something today, and that you have the factory keys and bill of sale. Enjoy it.
