History White Firewalls lets see them!!!

I was wondering how a white firewall would look with black walls. Looks sharp.

I painted my '59 Ford firewall Wimbledon White.. Colonial White wasn't available in Duplicolor. The rest of the car will be eventually be done in a 2-tone, one color being white.

 

White firewall's are where it's at. Best when flanked with a white top, interior, engine, and undercarriage.

 

Love this whole setup, especially the alternator bracket.

More of a cream. That way I don't have to clean my whitewalls.

I kinda like white because a friend of mine said "A white firewall's gonna look stupid". So much for his input.

 

Mike does your friend have a street rod with a lot of billet?

I have friends and fellow club member that don't like the old styles,it's their loss.HRP

 

I love white firewalls. I think it makes the engine stand out.

 

Regular old white with a few drops of black to take a bit of the edge off...

I think whit firewalls are beautiful and makes a cleaner looking engine compartment

 

I run a full hood 99.9% of the time but had it off for a couple days and took a pic.


Its about the only bright part of my car. Lol
I used early 60s chevy Emine white i had left over from an Impala i built for mine.

My '36 when I first got it, before starting the restoration. I'll be repainting the fire wall a cream color and it'll be on the fire wall only, not the cowl........

 

The white fire walls look great! Gives a clean look, if they are not dirty. LOL.

If you're going for a 50's or earlier look, I think it's mandatory. It wouldn't suit a '60's styled Hot Rod.

As to 50s only, sorry to disagree. 60s too without a doubt, but by then other colors may have been tried as well on show rods. There's cars with the black n white also that can go either way, too much or too kool. I think that works on a more race inspired build. Shit kids, I'd do a white firewall on a full size 60s kustom. This may have inspired something...
