I have a couple different hoods and like 4 different latch panels...the truck is a five star deluxe model and I have all the 52' hood trim, stainless windshield trim and chrome/stainless vent windows. It will look correct when done.

IMG_0329 (640x480).jpg IMG_0328 (640x480).jpg I grabbed this F1 that was clean body til 2013 ELRENO OK tornado tore it up. Then I went after this F3 for the cab and doors. Sold a few parts off the f3 already. I may leave suspension and make it my run around in the country truck. Not sure yet
Of course this cab has a crushed fulton visor and no rust in the floors! Grrrr. Story was this truck was belonged to a gentleman and when he passed his daughter kept it because it reminded of him. It was used to occasionally used to feed cattle. A head was stolen some time. back. Even had 3 of the 4 original wheels.

Some really neat trucks on here.

Can anyone educate me regarding 1950 F-1s that were built with the larger 1951-style rear window?

I have seen a couple such trucks, and one in particular has a well known family history leading me to conclude that it was built that way by Ford. It is a late build 1950 with a column shifter and it appears to be all original and family claims it has never been apart.

    Anyone care to educate me?

There have been a few discussions on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts '48-56 discussion board about '48-50 trucks with the large back window. No real proof that any ever came from the factory like that. A few member stated that if a cab was damaged when the trucks were only a few years old and it needed a new cab Ford made replacement cabs using whatever parts they had left in stock. Toward the end they probably only had the back parts of the later '51-52 models left so they used them to assemble replacement cabs. A few years back there was a guy on eBay selling NOS Ford replacement parts one of which was a '48-50 cab with a large back window.

The truck I just saw is a 1950, VIN 89RC 475353 with matching VIN plate on the firewall and the frame, and it has the large back window. It is a 3-speed on the tree, so a late 1950 build for sure and it clearly has a 1948-50 style dash. It has been off the road since 1974, family owned since new, and family claims it is all original, never crashed, and that is for sure how it looks.

Never know, Ford used whatever parts they had when building these old trucks. I've been working on the for ove 30 years, at last count I've had 17, mostly parts trucks. Many had differences. Depended on what plat they were assembled at and what local vendors Foed bought their parts from.

  24. The F-1's were built at 16 different assembly plants so I'd expect many variations.

Here's some things I did to my '48.

    1957-1960 F100 deluxe steering wheel.
(most Ford wheels with splines will work but watch wheel dish depth)

    Column shift from a 1952.

Seat from a late 1980's Ford Ranger. It folds forward like stock but needed raised up about 5"-6"
(made about 4"-5" more legroom from stock)

Radio block off plate made from 70's Dodge pu beltline molding & F1 hood badge.
Speaker grill is a 1956 Ford car.
Dash knobs, switches and bezels are 1969 Ford pickup.
    2011 08 07 interior 4 big.JPG

Front and rear bumpers are 1947-1954 Chevy pickup.
Bumper guards were 1956 Ford car, ground on backside to fit Chevs bumper profile.

Recently changed to 1941-1946 Chev pickup bumpers.
They are slightly smaller than the 47-54 and I got a smokin' deal on a new pair.

From a couple years ago, it's first trip under it's own power in 30 years.
Ran over a 3/8" bolt on the gravel road about 2 minutes later and got a flat........

Here is a pic of my 1950 F1 last July, all loaded up and ready to go to the Iola swap meet. It's chopped 3", Mustang II IFS, 302 with AOD and 9" rear axle. I've used as a daily driver for the last 3 summers and put over 16k on it. It's painted in various shades of DP90, I will get it painted someday.
