Hey hyway hauler, awesome truck. Is that a dropped 49-54 truck front axle under it? Stance looks perfect. Need more pics.

This seems like the friendliest thread to do an introduction on. My 32 3 window came from my Dad. He bought it for $50 when he was 14 and came out on the cover of 1001 custom & rod ideas with it in 76. The goal is to get the front end lower and get it road ready the way it is while I slowly gather parts to swap power trains in it. my dad built it with a 289 in the late 60's early 70's. Hopefully the Ford motor in it doesn't get me banned. Ha. He truly built it with whatever he could get his hands on I guess. I have a million questions on how everyone has been setting theirs up but they'll come as I get there. Thanks and awesome thread.

  20. Awesome car and story.
I'm doing the same thing, working on my dad's 32 5 window that he purchased when he was 14...1958 I believe. Tons of knowledge on this site. Looking forward to your pics and progress. Got any interior shots?

Nope, that is the stock 1931 axle. Sent it to Nostalgia Sid's and got it dropped 3". All new king pins and bushings. ECI disk brake conversion.

Does anybody have or could take a picture of how a 1933 Chevy radiator grill she'll mounts to the chassis cross member?
I think I have all the old parts, I just want to see how it looked originally.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  27. Mike,
The fender brace goes between the mounting bracket on the grill shell and the frame cross member. Here are some pics. Hope this is clear enough, if not I can try to take some better pictures later.

    Thanks Tom,

    This is what I have.
I will relocate the front crossmember to its original place in the chassis.
Does the grill shell bracket go on top of the front of the crossmember.
I realize I do not have the finder bracket. This car will be fenderless. image.jpg

That was a nice car to start with. I don't know if I could have done that but it came out very nice. Do you still have the stuff you took off? Like the front springs?
