Yep. Any engine was available in any full size model, along with the 4-spd. The 4-spd was only available behind a 327 or a 409 though. No 6s or 283s in '62.

    Thanks Verne,'

I thought I was going 'looney' on what I saw.

I found my old photo's of a 1962 Biscayne 'Wagon' with
409/380 HP 'lettered' on the front fenders at
    Dover Drag Strip from 1968.

    Classed in F/Stock {10.50 to 10.99 Wt/Hp}

It must have weighed in at #4000 lbs.

Paul maybe you are right on the color. I remember it was driven by a gal and she won most of the time.

Whatever happened to the car names Sunday's Child?

I used to love watching Antones girlfriend hooking up the cables to start his car on Sundays

    Jim,

    Antone Addesso {1936 Dodge ~ BB/A}

I believe it was called 'Miss M'

Definitely my favorite Altered at Dover. We used
    to scream out 'Antone'.

This car was most definitely raced with an aluminum front end but the aluminum was removed very early in the car's life and sold off. Front end still exists and is accounted for.

    Mark Yac,

    1969,
I can remember it like it was yesterday.

1961 Impala {Light Blue} 'Jewel Blue' with a 'dirty' White
'convertible top', and with the rear plastic window ripped
    up.

348/280 HP 'Tri-Power' was loud as hell.

A bunch of young kids from Connecticut brought it to Dover
    in the Summer of 1969.

    Ran 13.20's.

In the K/Stock Trophy Class final, they came up against my father.

Off the line, the Impala left way too hard.

The Impala had so much torque, that they blew the 'Starter' off, and
sent it out flying from the under-carriage, and across the track.

  8. Wondering if it was black.
    I don't remember a blue one but we had a black 61 in I/Stock.
Bob Beyer out of Springfield, Ma. He would win Jr stock once in a while, late 60's at Ct. I though it was a 250 hp deal but maybe not.
The classes dropped two designations about then.
It was sponsored by a Sunoco station as well.
Bob went on to run Pontiacs in the 70's with his brother John.

Paul: Antone was one very interesting person for sure and his car seemed like it won every week for years.

I know Dino wishes they could convince Antone to come to the Dover Reunion Shows and I think he might still own the old Pig Pen funny car he raced years ago.

I know back in those day's the prize money might not have big huge but Antone sure took a lot of Dover's money of the years.

I used to love watching the Terrenzio's run their different Altered cars over the years and they also were a real crowd pleaser..

Do you remember who owned Sunday's Child? I think it might have been either a camaro or a nova.

Paul: Thanks for posting the Sunday Child photo.

Where in Wilton do you live? I used to live where Wilton, New Canaan and Norwalk meet on Old Kings Hwy. across the river from the Silvermine Tavern.
We moved to the west coast of Florida 24 years ago.

Not to make this the York Musclecar Madness post board but FYI the special host hotel room rates are in place starting today. Apparently there is another large function occurring at York during that weekend . Rooms will be booked early. I can't imagine what else matters other than car stuff but hey, that's just me......Thanks guys.

    Jim,

I live on Silver Spring Road, about 1 mile south of
    Silver Spring County Club.

I am the first house in Wilton, right on the border
of {northwest} Wilton and {southwest} Ridgefield.

Antone should be within a long stones throw away
from me, as New Canaan is right around the corner.

I use to drive up route 33 on my way to Ridgefield where I had a business years ago.

Small world and it sure is a beautiful part of the state.

    Jim,

Dino Lawrence lives in Rockingham, North Carolina.
    He owns Carolina Signworks.

'The Twisten Texan' was run by Tex Edwards out of
    Newburgh.

It was a black 1968 El Camino 396/350 HP. Tex started
out as a Stocker in 1968, by running in D/Stock.

But moved to D/G in 1969 with a 396 and Tunnel Ram.

Then popped in a 427, and ran in C/G from 1970 thru 1972.

Wayne Jesel in the Yoo Hoo Too. It seems this striped version is more familiar than the original bronze color. Wayne has built himself a meticulous clone of the delivery and it can be seen at the York Reunion in July 2015.

I remember seeing Wayne and Danny when they used to haul their cars on a flat bed truck and tow the other car right behind it on an open trailer.
Those were the good old day's when it seemed like everyone hung around Bob Duffy's place in Red Bank, N.J.

I remember those cars well and looking at the ad for John Dianna's car for sale in Hot Rod Magazine sure brings back memories.

I loved the Yoo Hoo cars.

John Dianna's delivery eventually ended up in Canada and being converted into a wagon.
