I scored a nice Bill Von Esser flathead intake at the CSRA swap meet today. It's so rare to just stumble on odd flathead stuff anymore.
That intake looks real familiar.. i know back in the day guys shared manifold designs and put their own branding on them. It looks like a.. uh man i can't think of it. Its like # + #.. two letters.. Someone will know what i'm talkin about..
28A - The intake you are thinking of is a D&S. I believe the Von Esser name was cast onto the Fenton pattern intakes by Al Sharp. Al Sharp acquired the Fenton intake patterns at a bankruptcy auction from Aaron Fenton and used the Fenton intake pattern to cast the Von Esser intakes and many others. Some of the other intakes cast using the Fenton pattern are Jet, Douglas, Ralph's Muffler Shop, Don Cherry and of course Von Esser.
