I am using a 37 Ford rear axle in my car. Do I need to put the speedo gear, thrust washer, and c-clip on the front of my drive shaft if I am not using the speedo drive ? Thanks in advance. Dave miller

  2. Pretty sure all that stuff is what holds the bearing in place.

Holds it all together, provides the thrust bearing to position everything.
