I know it has been quite a while since I have posted anything here. But rest assured I am still alive and kicking..
It's true Tony and I haven't done anything to our 3W coupe for a number of months. But we have been doing stuff.
The biggest thing is Tony's daughter Renee' and her husband Sam have bought Tony's '32 5W from him. Being all cashed up, I told Tony about an Aussie '34 5W that I knew may be on the market.
I won't say anything more about it, other than Tony now owns it and it will be stored here in my garage for a few months.

  9. Thought I would share some pics from Johns rod and custom picnic on Sunday. Channeled hot rods look great, it was also good to catch up with Mick Jubber who I haven't seen in person for along time. A good day out especially considering the weather didn't exactly be kind to Luke and Dean who did a good job as usual.

  11. Yeah spoogie, I love channeled hotrods, the first hot rod that I remember my Dad having was a channeled 34 "5" window painted red with a Y block donk in it in the late seventies when we lived in Warrnambool, I have pics but they are still on slides at my Mums but one day I will get them turned into photos that I can post on here. Your right about Chopped it was an awesome weekend and I hope this run lasts for a long long time. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415188387.489674.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415188416.726812.jpg

Good to see this thread happening again. Tony the new coupe looks good, A coupe of jobs to be done from the fire wall forward;) but a solid car to start with. Thanks for the Picnic photo's guys, I was in melbourne but had been since Friday afternoon and left early Sunday morning to get home at a decent hour to see the family.

  15.:rolleyes: Far out, you cats have it goin' on in Mexico. Kraziest photos Devilrod. The '54 looks so custom despite it's mildness. Colour, stance & wheels & sweet fit do a lot. The red 5 window has those 3 in spades too. The tudor is nuts. Good. How you say?- 'grouse'. EH is sneeky sleeper- looks like they used to, with those gas white wheels. TBird is sick bla bla..
Good to see your car at CHOPPED after the recent (kinda) misadventure.
    Also Thanks Gary509.

    Thanks guys for the replies.
Gary D and Devilrod, we really appreciate you posting the Picnic images. It has been many years since I have attended.
Tony has been here all week. We have been playing with his coupe. Boy has the new 2 poster hoist made life easy. You guys are going to love the way this hot rod sits. Stay tuned over the next week or so for a bit of a report with images.
Tony and I have had a ball here in the 'Fip Choose Bar and Il Gorilla hang out' ( don't ask, it gets a little crazy here at times).
Tom you will love Tony's new '34. This is one of those things that was meant to be. Even Lance is going to love how this hot rod sits.
Any how I had best be going.

  19. Wasn't mine, it hasn't moved from the house since we got it back. That's the slightly rougher imitation....

  21. @tommyflathead that is one mean looking roadster! looks like it wants to punch someone in the mouth.

Thanks for the pics of the picnic guys. It's one show that I've always wanted to go to, but for one reason or another haven't got there yet.

@whodaky sounds like you and Tony are having fun, good to hear. I saw Tony last weekend and he told me about his "new" coupe, he seemed pretty excited. Can't wait to read all about your adventures this week.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
Tom, I am also happy that Tony got this coupe.
This is a car I have known about for many years, that a good friend ( Darren ) of mine owned.
Darren and his late father ( Nick ) had done a lot to it. I had even done some work to it. And have some special memories of working with Darren and Nick on quite a few Saturday afternoons on it.
It had sought been for sale for a while, but hadn't been advertised. When Tony came to visit a few weeks ago, I took him to meet Darren and he saw the coupe. Well I guess you know what happened next.
So as I said this past week, Tony and I have been wrenching on the coupe. Below is a shot of what it looks like now. I think you guys will like it. I know for sure, Tom; that you will love it.

    Hey Tom;
I am here putting together right now ( whilst Tony sleeps ) a CD for Tony of all the images I have taken this last few days ( well over 100 ).
Of course we have been looking and analyzing this hot rod as it now looks. I think from this, this coupe won't be chopped. I can hear Rita say, YYEEEEESSSSSSS.

You have my full support and backing on this hopeful outcome !
This is so sweet. As with this coupes whole coming to being in the possession of TBone everything has just fallen into place and this focus needs to now extend into the look as presented by this last pic.

@tommyflathead, the 33/34 3 window coupe sneaking out from under the cover I'm pretty sure is the same carI fell in love with in the mid 90's
In the US Street Rodding mag, its one of the cars that kicked me along into more traditionalrod mind set... was thinking about it just recently.
    Jersey Suede?

Thanks for the chopped & picnic pics fella's, yes @Spoggie there are some grouse cars n pics there! By the way it was good to bump into you again.

    Cheers
