I've been kinda quite lately ~ building other stuff, But I managed to save this from the scrapper ( Before anybody get upset ~ The scrapper bought it at a junk auction) Any how my buddy the scrapper bought it & offered to me for $850 on payments........ since I'm broke almost every bloody day!;)
As soon as my wife saw the picture he texted to me she wanted it!! and she doesn't get to overly excited over too many old cars.
No major plans yet other cleaning out the garage for some extra room to park it & get a title for it and find some of the missing parts like the gas tank which is M.I.A and some side trim pieces & figure out the wiring than some asshat pulled from behind ignition switch trying to hot wire it  all they had to do is turn the bloody switch!!!

Dang that car is sweet. Get her wired, check the brakes and go for a cruise. With your wife, of course.

As of right now, we're hoping just to get it running & cruise it. I read that a mid 80 Chevy big body car frame will swap? (just incase the engine is shot);)

I need to replace the master cylinder for sure (no pressure)

Even if the engine is shot why would a complete frame swap be required?

    No Clue?

I been reading that engine swaps are a night mare & the rear are geared low.

Damn that's cool. i love those, especially with a lowers roof :) I wouldn't frame swap it, clip the front if needed and swap rear end.. Great score

  17. Kaiser chassis are not exactly something to sneeze at, very rigid according to my friend that also has a '51 that was made into a roadster. He claims some dealers used to pop one wheel off and drive around town on 3 to show how rigid their frames were. Is it true? I'm not sure, but salesman were probably more adventurous and daring back in the day, so I'm going with maybe...

I wondered the exact same thing. I've seen much, much worse cars on Craigslist for a couple thousand dollars. I would have jumped on that thing so fast for $850 that my shoes would have been left behind!

Kaisers used continental 6 , industrial engine . Some had GM hydros adapted to them . My dad had a "Traveler" model , 4 door hatchback , rear seat folded flat like a wagon. We used it for camping/fishing trips .

  26. There is one around someplace that was made into a full custom, I have seen it in a mag within the past couple years, really turned out nice.
My granfather had an older model Kaiser (not sure of year, more rounded body) and it was a light faded peach color, we use to car her Pinky, she was built like a tank.
Did they make these in 2 door or convertible models, never seen one, always 4 doors.

In 1957, my Dad and Mom and us 5 kids traveled across country from Los Alamos NM to Norwood MA and back in a 1951 Kaiser just like that except it was dark green. I remember listening to "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant on the AM radio as we traveled the two lane roads. Great memories!

They did make them. I have seen one.
It was laying in some swamp water in the woods behind a junkyard in Kansas and there was almost nothing at all left of it. Literally every square inch of metal was soft to the touch from rust. But being the car geek that I am I was still excited to find it and I still stood and stared at it for a few minutest trying to figure out how to "save" it. (First step would have involved a bulldozer to take out a couple dozen trees, second step would have involved a front loader to pick up the hulk, third step would have involved picking up the body by hand after it broke into pieces.)
