I may need one on my front porch..some dick got into my truck and stole one of my pistols (yes it was unlocked I'm an idiot) I lock my truck 99 times out of a 100 and it just so happens that jackass got lucky and caught me with my pants down. Guess I'm not the only one because he got into my neighbors cars too..as well as my wife. I may have to take a break from the car and put up some gates (and some other little goodies I have in mind) before he gets too bold and winds up shall we say...less than healthy.

Triangulated round tube ladders bars with 1/8" plate webbing. Gonna make them 42" long. Running mono leafs with adjustable shocks.

  6. Triangulated as in the mounting location or the bars themselves ?

Nice build. I may be stating the obvious but when tapping using the tailstock make sure you do not tighten it down to the ways. If you do tighten the tailstock down keep turning the hand wheel to allow the tap to feed into the stock.

Thank you! I will be honest..I don't know what any of that stuff is but I figure it has to do with the the lathe. James and his father produce some out of this world work. That cannon is completely one off. I don't doubt you at all but when I visit those guys I just watch and listen.

And here is where I finished up.

It's all torch cut so no it's not perfect but I think it's stuff like this that gives a car some soul. Tomorrow I'll try and duplicate it on the other side and maybe even weld them up.

Thanks Butch! Originally I had planned on making a square tube set 48-56" long but in the end decided to use round tube. These are 42" eye to eye. James made it a lot easier on me by knowing what wall thickness to use to make tapping them possible. It ain't the first time he's bailed me out.

Thank you! I have been thinking about them for a long time now and was really looking forward to building them. Same goes for the wheelie bars. I have about 4 different styles I have been kicking around in my head from mild to wild and still not dead set on what I'm going to do.

Thank you! It's free hand. I just used whatever was available in the shop such as fishing line spool for biggest, bearing grease can,WD-40 for the next etc...chalked it out then cut it with my torch. I had to hand file a lot too.

Love the "what ever was laying around the shop" comment, that's been the story on my 55'. Now you have got me thinking about ladder bars again for mine. Finally got the Cal tracs dialed in but long ass ladder bars sure look cool.
