The first car make that I know of having an acronym was the early 1900's E.M.F. The popular ones were 'Every Mechanics Friend' and 'Every Monday & Friday'. Gee, I wonder why the brand failed? Not an acronym, but the early 1900's Brush was a mostly wood constructed car so the saying was: 'Wooden frame, wooden axles, and wooden run.'
