integral head is from the 70s-80s. The number you posted has an extra digit or two in it? F 92211 BA doesn't really make sense...maybe you misread part of it, or maybe it's a funky number. Like he said, pictures help.

the engine number usually has a letter such as F or T followed by 4 numbers, followed by two or three letters. The first digit of the number is either 0 or 1, since the first two digits together are the month, and months only go from 01 to 12.

The suffix at the end is two or three letters, although some of later ones included a number in there somewhere. 1960s were two letters, 1970 started with 3 letters, by the late 70s they were using numbers on some of them.

Toss the head/intake for an earlier style head and separate intake. I "think" the integrated head started in 76'? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I did this on mine. Note that parts stores DO NOT like you asking for a head for an earlier year. They kinda chewed me out due to getting rid of the emissions. I ended up talking to a cool person and they ordered me one. Even took the integral head as a core!

F 0221 TBA is how I read that... assmebled in Flint on Feb 21st.

TBA is a 1976-7 truck 250 engine. block casting date of A 22 7 means it was cast Jan 22 1977

edit: the guy's listing said 1977, I guess in this rare case, you can believe him

  8. Close, 1975 was the first year.

I have an integral head 250 out of a 75 nova with a cracked head sitting on the floor of the shop at the moment, should still be good, only got driven about 25 miles with the cracked head. haha.

  9. thanks jim! i'm figuring out of camaro or nova originally but last home was chevy truck 70's vintage!

the three letter suffix starting with T instead of C means it's from a truck.

  11. MMM! from what i read the trucks were 2 barrel and this engine has single barrel!

Doesn't really matter what it is, all 250's were the same other then head design. Trash the late model head and throw on a early head, doesn't matter which one, they were all the same from 230-292. The early 194 will raise compression, but the ports are terrible and will kill any gain from compression.
