    I do have a perfect ' 58 Ford grille if I can't find a good original '41 grille.

    Roadster went to Kansas City.

Good to hear the updates on this. Cool going with the 392. I would have liked to see a rocket but thats just me. I kind of have a thing for rocket engines. Love the look of the manifold on there.

Brian, So glad to see that you are moving ahead with this car. Build the car the way that you want it. You will be a lot happier when its done. If I can help in any way just let me know. The car in my avatar has a blown and injected 392 in it. Larry

Actually will be refreshing to see something other than another blown 392 in one...go bubba.

image.jpg Pistons for the 392 Hemi came in today. They are Ross forged domed pistons, which Ross stocks as a shelf piston in .030" over and .040" over. Mine are 4.040", and I bought them through Flatlander Racing in NH.

I am looking for a set of a Halibrands like these in the photo below (front and rear), if anyone out there reading this has a set they want to see go to a good cause.

I'll keep my eyes open for parts over here.....
And I agree with you on the O.D. Trans plan, the car would be 'less' fun without it.

Gear Vendors makes a nice OD set up, that's for sure. But one of their add on overdrive units is about $500 more than a brand new Tremec TKO600.

I like the idea of using a vintage transmission to keep the car all "period correct", but this is one area where I think it's OK to upgrade to a modern piece that will work a lot better. You won't be able to see the transmission once the car is put together anyway.

Where are you seeing a TKO600 for $500 all I've seen are over $1k for a used one. Or am I not reading that right?

  21. Subscribed to the thread. If this car turns out like any of the other cars you've built then its guaranteed to be a bad ass machine. Looking forward to following the build.

Im running a 57 poncho rear end too. 4.56s with an ansen locker. Had to go through it all when i got it of course. Got the richmond ring and pinoin from Gevos 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else, got the rebuild kit from Fabcraft, they are awsome to work with. My car is close to being on the road and the strip.
Good luck with this build, i will be watching.
