As I was driving through down town L.A. today, I saw some 60's car parts sitting on top of a small building that is a honda salvage yard. I decided to turn around and be nosey and low and behold as the owner is walking me through the yard he lifts up a canvas covering a 34 coupe that has been parked since the 70's. He said that some lady ran a shopping cart into it and out a dent in the door and he was upset so he parked it intending to re paint it "someday". It's on halibrands with flat piecrust tires, chromed split wishbones, and there was a blown olds motor that he took out and loaned it to Mooneyham blowers for a race and never got it back. Of course he does not want to sell the car to me, YET!!!!
I'm headed that way on monday, I'll bring a camera. Original faded paint…….. He said he has a convertible 34 as well.
We need a sign that says: "this thread is useless without pics"!!! Hopefully you can get pics and don't forget to pm me with his phone number and address so I can try to talk him into selling it to you!!! LOL!!!
Wicked. Ready for a bus ticket.....add hedge clipping and official tire air freshener to my previous annoying resume' talents ! The 3 Willys may beat up on the Ford.....but one sure can't deny your garage would be the coolest in the neighborhood.......as if it wasn't already.
That's super cool. It's hard to put a price on it with those photo's??? Looks to be a 5 window and appears the shopping cart is still parked in a bad spot!
Cuz i'm an idiot! I wasn't able to lift the tarp myself the first time around. He wasn't their today so i had a free pass.
from what info you gave in your op I would bet theirs at least 10 other Hamb members trying to tract this coupe down !!
Beaut of a find! Looks to have 15x10 Americans with Inglewoods, about a 1965 vintage Grant steering wheel, love that old R&P and the chrome mouldings. That sucker is just plain neat! Hope you can strike a deal.
