Hot Rods 40-41 Ford panel questions

    This followed me home today. I've never seen one with the truck sheetmetal. I'm pretty sure it was a one ton and the axles under it are more like early 50s 3/4 ton. Any information on these big panel trucks would be greatly appreciated.
    For sure the spare tire rack was for the big 6 lug one ton wheel.

    The wheelbase is about 122. Is that the standard length of a half ton panel or this one longer?

    That's a great find, all the Ford clubs should have lots of info. Google is your friend!

    I didn't find anything specific about the one ton van when I googled it. I opened almost every link on several pages. FTE doesn't have much activity on older stuff. I thought for sure someone on here would know something.
     

  5. According to Wagner's Ford truck book, the 122 wb was used on 3/4 & 1 ton Panel's.
    The spare indent would probably handle 2 different tire sizes.
