Most chop tops look pretty cool but I'm not so sure about this one that I saw on the Louisville Craigslist. What do you guys think?

    Big case of the ick.

  6. I can't say anything nice.....................!

  7. that car is crying inside. the dude that built it is hoping someone else takes this bastard work off his back, probably tired of the comments.

  8. Damn........I can't exactly put my finger on what exactly went south. Is the windscreen slanted too far back, while the rear too high ?? Yikes !

How much $$$ is it ? One of the favorites, for me.....guess for the right price....maybe it can be righted from whatever the hell is wrong.

Looks like it's back is broken. The tops of the door and side windows slant down toward each other. Also notice that the top of the rear window appears to be about 1/2" higher than the door window. And that's just to start. I wonder if it would look better if it didn't have that two tone paint jobs that highlights the problems. Photoshop anyone?

  11. Anybody want to build a Henry J convertible? this would be a good start!

  13. Convert is just what I was thinking.
And drop the front end way down,
match the front wheelwells to the back
ones and drop the rear end to match front.
Loose the wheels sticking outside the rear fenders, and you might have something.

A chopped Henry can look good, but everything needs to work together. Over all the windshield is too short.
Where it went wrong is the B pillar is way to short and the C pillar is a little short.

No Henry J looks good with a chopped top. That one looks like someone stepped on it.

  18. I do like your Stud build by the way. I tried to quintuple thumbs up your build album....but something wasn't cooperating with me that day. Very cool steel fanagling there. Nice.

Now that looks good, and if they would change the tail lights to something like 55 Plymouth instead of the round tail lights, it would be really nice.

I would love to see that top in bare metal. definitely be a terrific example of bad work.

Jeepers, that's unattractive. It's almost like the designers for the old Palmer model company decided to build a real car.

  27. A lot of work went into the Henry J, but somehow it just didn't work out well.
I do have to give the guy credit for trying, but it just didn't work out well for him or the J.
I know I would not be able to do such work, but I don't try to surpass my own expectations or whatever little talent I possess..

I think that thing has more problems than that abortion of a chop. Why does the door look more shallow than the fenders/rocker? Looks awfully lumpy in front of the rear wheel well.

And is it just me or is the back window crooked?

What's the matter, the Rat Rod crowd run out of roached out Model A's to further ruin so now they've moved to early 50's iron?

That guy should never, under any circumstances, be allowed within fifty feet of a sawzall or welder again.
