We picked up this old Ford six cylinder with a bunch of other parts possibly for our new HA/GR project. Any help identifing it? What should I look for?

So is this one of the heads that they swap onto a 300 to jump the compression ratio? I do have a couple of 300's which would put me out for the official HA/GR but I am really wanting to run with the Northwest Vintage Dragsters.

that's a different engine. the 240/300 replaced that one in about '65.

Well sounds like I don't have much here, The motor is supposed to be a fairly fresh rebuild and it does have the rebuild tag on it maybe I can trade the whole motor for a 240 head.

Oh Well Thanks for the info

Go check the truck resto sites. You'll have a better chance finding someone with 240 parts and/or a need for one of these older 6's on that end. Most of the Ford big six guys are over in the truck realm from what I've found in researching for my 300 buildup.

Its got a nice set of headers on it to, those don't exactly grow on tree's. Wonder if its got an upgraded camshaft to suit?

They don't have the potential or parts availabilty of the 240/300 but with headers and a dual carb intake it will go down the road just fine, and sound pretty good doing it.

  8. I think there is someone running a 223/262 in a Ha/Gr car check in the Ha/Gr photo thread. Offy intakes show up on E-bay pretty often and Clifford still sells their intake and headers for it.Also sets of Barker hi-lift rocker arms show up as well. Offy still sells Valve covers and intakes for these engines.
