  6. Hello, My name is Ted McClure, Im originally from the Pismo Beach Area, In 1967 I moved to So. Cal. to go to L.A. Trade Tech, Majored in Auto Body Fender and Business Adm. If I didn't spend my week ends at the Santa Maria Drag strip, I was at one of the Drag venues Lion's, Irwindale, etc. at one of these events I met a guy named Royce, he was real good friends with the Summer's Bros. who built axles, back in the day. He helped take there Golden Rod on tour's and we got to be good friends. Im wondering if it is the same Royce as I cannot rermember his last name.
Im also into old gasser's and the new owner of the Super Stude, I got it from Dr. Lockjaw in Oregon. My plans are to put it back on the strip as Jamie just built a new chassis. I may have to put a fresh 505 BBC in it till I can round up a Hemi. Still lots of work left. Any info on Royce would be appreciated, I am also in need of a trunk lid for this car. 41 Champian Coupe. Some one told me that some one assoc. with the Garey High School car may have a mold, or a trunk lid....... Thanks and what a great blog. Gasserted

I never heard Royce mention the Summers brothers but it wouldn't suprise me if he was associated somehow. Their shop was in Ontario, I used to drive past it every day on my way to work and see the Goldenrod sitting outside of the building.

No clue about a mold or a decklid for your Stude.

...an old article but it features the new owner at the time...it was one sharp looking monster...I hope it was brought back to it's former excellence...

   ...More...
This link was shared back a bit by @5w32...but I'll share it again...blue or red it would be nice to see it in either former livery...

Anybody know if it saw further restoration to the good ole days...
