You'd have to set your co-ordinates to Canada for that, but I don't think they made any ragtops...

    Me?
I'd buy as many World War II fighter aircraft as the government would sell me and I could store.

In high school all I ever wanted was one of the first run of Z-28s or 396 Chevelles, a B production 67 Mustang coupe or a 67 GTO. After a tour in Europe, new favorites included BMW Alpina 2002s, Alfa GTAs, Lotus Europas and pre-tubo 911s. As if. The GI bill and my budget reduced me to hot rodded Fiats and a bicycle. But I always liked hot rods, too, and at least I get to mess with them now. Gary

Hell go back to the mid 70's gas crunch and buy up ALL the gas guzzler muscle cars you can find. Also all the 32-34 Fords that are left for dead.............You could come back and just sell the so-so stuff and make Bill Gates look like a broke azz.

First, if I had enough dough, I would have paid off Martin Sheen to stay home.
This way, I could have had alot of seat time in my favorite flamed '34, then bought it after filming.
Then, just for fun, get Bo Hopkins and his cop car to run me down on some back country dirt roads.
I really think I could out drive him!
    We are dreaming, right?

  16. If I had a time machine and money....I would go back to just after WWII, open a salvage yard, and stay. Those were the best years of living in this country.

  17. '59 Impala 'vert......black on red/white/grey.....348 3 deuces, 3 on the tree.....one rear radio antenna.....................with the glove box, trunk, and rear seat loaded with as many Colt 1911's, Thompson .45 sub machine guns, and Browning Automatic Rifles that it could carry...........'til the rear bumper scrapes the ground.

I like the way you think! And that would eliminate all of those 70's and 80's parts in the 1911's!

  19. I woulda' posted some additional pictures....but I didn't know if I would have been flamed and pitchforked outa' here or not. :) Figured it best to stop at just the car! I do love my HAMB era hand and shoulder steel collection, though.

    Chain-drive Frazer-Nash for me. Or perhaps a happily-proportioned Ballot 2LTS, or a Lancia Lambda, or a 2-litre Lagonda?

I'd go back to 1948, and buy a brand new black, 4-door Special Deluxe Plymouth P15, just like the first one I owned (and it was my first car), and just like the one I have now (except for the modifications on this one).:D

Hate to step on all your dreams, but none of you will be buying anything.
You think anybody back in time is going to accept what we have for U.S. currency today?
One would have to work out a serious plan in order to go back to buy something in any decade.

Sure is nice to dream, though.

If I had only one choice, and one that I would keep for a lifetime. it would be a new 1964 Studebaker Commander 2dr sedan with the R-3 Super Lark package.
Although a regular production offering, only ONE was built (the R-3 option wasn't cheap, virtually doubling the price of a car from the company that 'was going out of business')
But boy howdy! how those R-3's do run! If I had 2 choices I'd get 2, 3 and I'd get 3.

Owned a '69 SS 396 Camaro, '70 Cougar Eliminator 428 4 spd Drag-Pak, a '69 AMX 343 4spd, '71 Satellite 383 magnum, and others, .....and over the years a total of 9 Studebaker Lark types, still have 3 at present. My #1 choice come hell or high water.

You would want to open a scrap yard 1 day before WW2, those years made those guys extremely wealthy.

  28. I'd go back to Tulsa and tell 'em to use more caulking on that Plymouth's tomb.........
