I went and picked up my car this weekend in Dallas and it turned out just the way i wanted it. Phipp's Automotive installed my dropped spindles and steering arms. The ride height to me is perfect. All i need to do now is go back to 670 tires........

Phipp's did a excellent job and would highly recommend them to anybody who wants to use a true honest hot rod shop..........

Is Phipps Automotive the old Gas Monkey Garage?

I don't understand why you would change the tire size. Those are perfect. Car looks awesome!

Yes, the old Gas Monkey Garage is in the back.

It has 710's on it right now......

Going with a smaller tire will help with the steering clearance a little. It will also lower the car a little more too......

  14. Dewaine actually predates GMG......by about forty years. Guy sits at the top of what used to be, and still is(to a point)....Dallas' racer's alley. A lot of old time machinists, and racing shops still exist down Reeder Road, to where it turns into Ables Lane. You guys may know Mike Minette.....old time hot rod guy...and still machinist/fabricator......he and his shop are basically right across the street. Phipps is a great guy, and yes.....an awesome old time car guy. Always something interesting on his property.

I love this car. Way cool cruiser. Great work, you've done. Stance is nice.....but the car......is great. Love the rolling choice....too, by the way. Old school cool.

Thank you all for the comments. We have enjoyed the car very much so far. Winter plans are to build up a new slightly massaged 235..........

Suhhweeet! I've always liked the 210 side spear, but looking at that clean look on yours - mmmm, might rethink that one!

  22. No way.....that's gotta' be an unusual option. Or is it not? Is that how a business man ordered it back then ? How does it look ? Is it too forward to ask for a peek at your rear sir ? I did say sir, and how about a please ?

That is neat, I've never heard of that... I'd give up rolling down my windows for it to look like yours... It's got a ways to go... Thank you though...

Here's some pics of the inside. The car is pretty much all original.....

Not sure on this, but I think there were about 8000 back seat delete cars in 54'

    And it sits just right.

  27. Nice car, seriously!

  28. Now that is cool as hell. No jump seat provisions or anything. There's an interesting story there somewhere. Sure someone will chime in with details soon enough. Man, you have a really nice car. Thanks for sharing. I love it. Hope to see you around big D proper. Your car is definitely easy to identify.....never seen one like it. All original.....I am never so lucky. Take care, and thanks again !!

That is clean. I like the seat upholstery. I can't tell for sure, but do the door panels match it?

Also wouldn't this just be a business coupe?
