'59 .060 over 389, originally built by " ohio george" back in the 60's. I'm just finishing up a redo and detail on it. Behind was a Hydro-Motive slant pan olds hydro trans. that will go back behind it. pontiac engine 006.JPG pontiac engine 007.JPG

Thanks guys! Has a pretty rare M/T intake that was made in about '62 for the SD Pontiacs.

  16. My 1958 371 Olds J-2 motor. Bored .060 over. McGurk( I think) adj. rockers. Matching sequential numbers 2G carbs on a stock J-2 intake. I am trying to figure out pan gaskets right now. Best Gasket shows a 6 piece gasket set for a 371. I think my pan might be for 324.(324 takes a 4 piece gasket set) It looks the same as on my 324. I had a stock 371 pan with the extra capacity at one time but lost it. So no reference now.Anybody know what the difference in gaskets is? Tony from Ross knows. Are ya there? Help! Here's a couple of pics of my motor for my coupe Oldsmobile 371 J-2 Motor 009.JPG Oldsmobile 371 J-2 Motor 009.JPG

  18. Eric, Do you know where the extra rubber seals that are shown on the Best Gasket site for a 371 go? I a little confused about them.

Not to sure. Unfortunately I am away from home so I can't look through my notes. Try checking with Paul.

    Love to see those Lathams!

  25. Thanks Tony. Makes sense now. The small cork pieces? Are they supposed to lay flat or stand on edge to seal properly? I have had issues with these before. They look like they could work either way have them set in there on edge so there is no pressure fit. Photo of this? It would set my mind at ease. Thanks, Dale
