Technical Help diagnose this engine malady, listen to video please

    1968 383 from a plymouth



    One thing I wondered about is whether it has oil pressure. I don't own it, but thought about buying it until I heard this. Any help appreciated as always.

  2. Can't tell from the video, but sure wouldn't consider buying it no matter what. There are others out there.

    HAHAHA! I did. It doesn't sound like "a" bearing or lifter. It sounds like 'all' the bearings and lifters. There was ample, clean looking oil on the dipstick too.

    Kind of sounds like a big dent in the oil pan.

    sounds like if it keeps running its going to turn inside out ,
     
  7. sounds like maybe oil pan, but that just a guess from video clip. doesnot sound like lifter chatter or bearing knock, sounds like a thud on pan or something.

  10. Buy one of earlier year so it falls in HAMB rules,,,,68s too new for the HAMB
