We continued the thrash and are making more improvements to the #3663 XO/GCC '36 Buick, in hopes that the Salt stays dry. Who else is planning on (another) trip to Wendover?

The word is that they are extending SpeedWeek/World Finals a couple days starting earlier.
Going will depend on the Board Meeting Friday night.

    The rooms will ALOT cheaper!

I filled out our entry form last night and it says the dates are 9/27 thru 10/3.

Just a heads up for those who pre-entered for Speedweek and are going to World Finals. The SCTA will be sending refunds to all who pre-enterd for Speedweek, so you will have to submit a new entry for World Finals.

I was told, (and saw it posted on twitface)that if you pre-registered for SW, you only need to send in a new registration form, not new drivers medical forms. I'm playing it double safe and sending them in with our WF entry, but maybe someone can confirm 100%.

It never got off the trailer at SpeedWeek. Maybe we'll be luckier for World Finals.

I hear that the salt is drying up pretty good so far. I hope they can get the long course in shape by the time we get out there. JC

I read a few minutes ago that the bike guys are running, but holding due to wind. Bad for them but probably good for us looking to be there in a few weeks.

I have never ran there in late September, only during speed week. I have to imagine the air will be a couple thousand feet better that time of year. My records show the best we ever ran in during speedweek was 5800 feet and that was early morning on a record attempt. I'm looking forward to making some power with the extra oxygen. JC

We have our reservation at the Red Garter (about $200.00 for 6 days) ,, we will see how the roadster does at El Mirage.

But more that anything,, we need Land Speed Photos for next year's calendar!

Still working on some upgrades.... car looks about like it did a few months back, all torn apart and scattered around the shop. Excited to get it put back together and make the trip. Let's hope the weather holds...

I'm pulling out Tuesday morning. 1830 miles down I-80. I have to wire up a new data recorder when I get there and then we will be ready to run Saturday morning. I can't wait to see what the air is this time of year. I'm itching to put some more fuel and timing in it. If the parts will hold, we will see you in impound. JC
