Maybe air shocks on the rear would allow you enough clearance to pump up for tire changes, while keeping that great stance.

I'm running friction/lever style shocks right now. But I am looking for '50/'51 Stude' shock mounts so i can go this route (i believe those years started using the standard tube shocks).

 

I have air shock in the back of my '54 plymouth, handy when I have a full take of gas or passengers in the back seat.

here are a couple recent shots of her … sprayed it black for a photoshoot. i still have to do all the custom bodywork so it was no big deal to spray it black especially since it'll be getting a nice paint job (suede maroon and gold flake to match the dash and around the windshield) hopefully in the next 30 years or so haha.

i havent gotten a chance to do any body mods yet, been having too much fun driving her and making all the blue-hairs smile and ask 'what is it?'.

have been running without the O/D so thats my next project on my 'to-do' list this weekend.

 

Very cool! Hopefully this year I get a 50-51 Starlite. I want to go radical custom with it. Gold metal flake the whole thing!
