I saw this UNBELIEVABLE 1932 5 window on Ebay (actually one of those referral sites)...but the seller ended it instantly. No wonder..... Man...I just about dropped a nugget in my shorts on this one.

In fact, I ran through the range of emotions... from "it's fake---a scam", to "Holy ****".... to depression.

Just curious if anyone knows the WHOLE story on this car. Sheesh, practically a ONCE in a lifetime opportunity.

    Search # 321505671732

Just rarely see something so unbelievable that apprears to be REAL.

Don't know the story on the car, but the auction didn't end instantly. It was on there for at least 5 days according to when the revisions were made (pix added to the listing) and the end date. Looks like it was bid to $39K when the auction ended.
    Nice car!

UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY. THIS IS A ''GARAGE FIND'' 1932 FORD 5 WINDOW COUPE THAT HAS BEEN IN DRY STORAGE SINCE ROUGHLY 1954.
THE STORY OF THIS CAR IS THAT IT WAS PURCHASED BY A SCHOOL TEACHER IN 1953 OFF A TRADE IN CAR LOT WHILE SHE WAITED FOR HER NEW CAR TO COME IN. WHAT SHE DIDNT KNOW IS THAT SHE HAD BOUGHT A HOTROD AND NOT JUST A STOCK CAR.
THIS CAR WAS EQUIPPED WITH BLACK ROLL AND PLEATED INTERIOR OVER THE ORIGINAL INTERIOR. THE GARNISH MOLDINGS WERE CHROME PLATED. THE BRAKES WERE UPGRADED TO ''40'' FORD HYDROLICS. THE ENGINE WAS ALSO CHANGED TO A 1946 FLATHEAD WITH DUAL EXHAUST. THE CAR WAS PAINTED A SLICK BLACK ENAMEL ALSO.
THE SCHOOL TEACHER ONLY DROVE IT FOR 1 SCHOOL YEAR AND THEN PARKED IT IN HER MARYLAND HOME GARAGE UP UNTIL ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO.
SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY MECHANICALLY REBUILT INCLUDING BRAKES,BRAKE LINES,FUEL LINES, BATTERY CABLES, GAS TANK, WHEELS AND TIRES, TRANSMISSION, AND ENGINE. ALSO THE CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REWIRED WITH CORRECT TIME PERIOD CLOTH COVERED WIRE.
THIS 32 HAS SUCH GREAT 60 YEAR OLD PATINA ON THE PAINT, ALL WE DID IS JUST COMPOUND AND POLISH IT. ( AND YES IT DOES HAVE WEAR ON IT!!)
    SO HERE ARE THE STATS:
ORIGINAL BODY AND FLOORS ( NEVER ANY RUST OR PATCHES)
FENDERS HAVE A COUPLE DINGS AND A LITTLE RUST THROUGH ON LOWER REARS WHERE THEY MEET THE RUNNING BOARDS. SIZE OF A QUARTER.
CANVAS INSERT I BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL OR REPLACED IN THE EARLY 50'S
    REBUILT STOCK BOAT TAIL HORN
STOCK HEADLIGHT BAR AND NEW DRAKE HEADLIGHTS
    INTERIOR:
BLACK ROLLED AND PLEATED INTERIOR WITH NEW CORRECT BLACK CARPET. (CARPET WAS TORN SO I MATCHED IT TO 1953 VERSION)
STOCK SPEEDO AND STEWART WARNER 2 1/16 SMOOTH BEZEL GAUGES.
1940 FORD DELUXE STEERING WHEEL AND 39 SWAN SHIFTER
    CHASSIS:
    ORIGINAL UNCUT CHASSIS
    1948 F-1 PICKUP STEERING BOX
DUAL EXHAUST WITH NO MUFFLERS (SOUNDS VERY GOOD)
STOCK 32 AXLE WITH REVERSED EYE SPRING
    LEVER SHOCKS
    STOCK 32 REAR (3.78 GEARS I THINK)
    6.00X16 FIRESTONE TIRES IN FRONT
7.20X16 FIRESTONE TIRES IN THE REAR
    ENGINE:
    1946 FORD BLOCK
    4 IN MERCURY STROKER CRANK
    ISKY 400 JR. CAM
    JOHNSON HOLLOW ADJUSTABLE LIFTERS
    TUBE HEADERS
RARE WEIAND 2X2 HI-RISE INTAKE MANIFOLD
REBUILT STROMBERG LARGE LOGO 97 CARBS (MAX MUSGROVE)
    CONVERTED AND REBUILT 12V GENERATOR
REBUILT 1939 FORD TOP LOADER TRANSMISSION
THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICE.

  17. wow....that thing sure cleaned up nice.....

  18. While American Graffiti is a great movie, that car has got to be one of the worst looking '32 coupes around..

That car needs to be left alone.

I have seen this car in person. It really is a true survivor and the work done to it was top notch. I hope the buyer does not change a thing.

  23. Leave it alone, build a church I'll come and worship!
    Don't change a thing.
That thing is the Marilyn Monroe of cars.
    Absolutely perfect!

  26. See what you started here mad034,
You can't make joke's around the deuce guys. They are ready to bow down in front of this thing, parallels between this car and the the worlds sex symbol have been drawn and here you go making funnies. That kind of blasphemy against the idol will get you in hot water.

If I were forced into the deuce club I hope it would be with that one. History and all. But Id bet clones in glass of this black one would go like hot cakes, maybe even as well as the graffiti coupe clones. It's sharp for sure.

    Thanks for the replies!

Very cool car with a very cool story!

Still hoping to hear who has it or closer details of the car (more in depth than the eBay ad).

Nosey, curious and would like to know more!!!!!

I am a sucker for "broken in" cars and bikes. Not beat up, rusted out, etc... Just perfectly aged and a little worn like the finest leather! ;)
