Headers are on, the exhaust is hooked up,the fan is all set. Tested the fuel pump tonight it pumps and there's no leaks. We should be all set to fire her up on Saturday. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409296569.765185.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409296580.395950.jpg

What are the "plates"at the ports before the headers for?

  6. When I first put the eBay headers on, they were awful close to the body. (Probably intended for a Model A.) It was much cheaper to add spacers than buy a new set.

Today we have head lights, a final wired engine compartment,a wired horn and steering column, wired up the neutral safety switch, tested the fan, and just as a test lit the engine off for just a second. All systems are go and we should be breaking in the cam on Thursday. Every day we're a little closer. 11. I can't believe you cut up some history just to build another 32 Street Rod, oh it a shame you didn't find out just what the history of the car was and restore it back too that. Yes, What A Shame!

Exactly as Jim put it here's a car that was buried in obscurity for years and never seen. Now it's getting a chance to be out and about and enjoyed,as all good hot rods should be no matter what their intended purpose is. If it's any constellation jimsig and I helped take a street rod ,that had been a well used street for over 40 years, and turn it into a record holding land speed racing car and now it sits hidden away and not used except for the land speed races. So now the math is even one street rod off the road and one back on. And here's the kicker if you don't like it don't read the thread ,no one put a gun to your head to make you do it. The way I see it we are all here as a brotherhood of hot rodders no matter what your choice drag, land speed, cruising we are all united and should support each other to help this great tradition keep moving forward for generations to come. That's it I'm off my soap box and going back to wrenching on my hot rod.

  15. I have to say i missed post 62 and with what JimSig said there he did do his checking out the car for history. I apologize for missing that post and will have to bit my tongue for jumping the gun. I will have to say i am a nostalgic guy and like to see all the old race car brought back to what they once was if possible. Again i apologize for missing that post and also for jumping the gun. I do have to say you are doing a nice job on the car, I like your choice of color and the Nail head with the Banjo rear end it does portray some nostalgic attitude. Keep up the build and enjoy your ride.

Holy smokes Jim you guys have been BUSY! Seems like just yesterday when you shlepped it down here on the trailer for measuring. Just beautiful, I cant wait to see how the final fit all comes together. Are you still going to run the roll bar?

  18. Bob,
About the roll bar, as a matter of fact, I put it back in the car last night. The legs that go into the trunk are removable which makes it a much easier job. I got it second-hand, never used. The first owner said it took up too much room behind the seat, so he left it out. I notched the package tray by the thickness of the roll bar so the seat will be in the normal location.
Now, on to the upholstery shop.

Well the wiring is all done here are a couple shots from under the dash and behind the kick panel basically the only places you will be able to easily find any wiring. THe car starts runs, the cam is broken in, the systems allseem to be working with each other. as soon as we finish bleeding the brakes it will be time for a short test drive and then it's off to the upholstery shop.

  21. Well, the little blue deuce went out on the road today for the first time. Everything went bitchin' - the quick change made too much noise, the car accelerated way too fast, it rattled too much, in other words, it was perfect. Next step is the upholstery shop. I'm jazzed. Thanks to all who worked on it and especially Jason (HAMB Jeo3765) who did the wiring and a lot of the finishing touches on it. Stay tuned - film at 11:00 (or sooner).

Ok, how the hell have I missed this thread for Five ? Five years and I don't remember checking it and what a fantastic car came out of it. Perfect color, Nailhead and even a stock Deuce Hiboy gas tank out front.
I'll be watching for the driving it down the street finished video now.
