    Gday guys!!
Am going to install a 63' year model 401 into my 55 Buick special sedan. The motor has the hump in the middle of the sump. Do I need to get a rear hump sump?? Has any other HAMBer done the same conversion? If so which sump pickup did u use??
    Thanks in advance!!

I put a 401 in a Buick Special about 12-years ago. The engine was coupled to a Super T-10 4-speed and, as I recall, I had to use a rear sump pan. I might have some pictures of that area of the car and if I do, I'll post them for you.

I don't think what pan you'll need will be your biggest problem with this swap, EVL401.

I have a rear sump oil pan, if you need it. You can modify the tube on the center sump oil pump pickup to work with your rear sump oil pan - cheaper than buying a rear sump oil pump pickup.
