Found a 36 radiator today, but it's in CA!!! It might make it by the 20th!?!?!? I did get some wiring done today, not too traditional , but with the time I have it will do for now! I did snap about 100 shots on my phone before I finally caught this pic! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410404247.990482.jpg

I just got it started! Seems to run pretty good! But I didn't run it for very long since there's no coolant in it yet. I took a video on my phone, but I can't figure out how to load it up! It's looking good for making the run, keep your fingers crossed!

UUUUUGGGGG! I started up the 36 again and was trying to put the car in gear and the clutch will not disengage!!! Any thoughts? I may have mis-matched a part? anyways, after work either the trans or motor are coming back out! I think it may be easier to just pull the motor! good thing I didn't put any coolant in! A late night is a comin!

Hang in there! You're gittin' close!
Hope you find it to be a missing pin in the linkage or something simple before you have to take major steps.
    Good luck,
    Al

  6. No goofy noises or anything when you push the clutch in?

No funny noises! Just seems like not enough throw? I'll look it over real good before I pull it! It was getting late when I found it!

Good news on the clutch! I turned it over with the clutch in and in gear, first couple cranks it lurched forward, and then it quit!!! I think the splines on the clutch plate were sticking! Anyways, back at it tonight!

  14. Changing rear axle gear oil seems like a no brainer on a vintage car, but should be done periodically on any vehicle. 30k on trucks and 60k on average car.

I thought the pic's of your car looked familiar! I've got your radiator. Got to keep those 36's alive!

Cool car and video. Love the look on your kids face. I can't wait to take my kids for a spin as soon as I get out of rust hell. And running gear etc....

  23. Let's go around again, Daddy! Love it....
Does my heart good to see an old '36 survivor, up running and driving again.

Well, got the floor boards cut, just need to screw them down. Also, trying to get the 36 into the exhaust shop tomorrow! Hopefully they can get me squeezed in there!
