I picked up this 36 Five window a few months ago and though I'd share a few photos of the work up to this point..
From what I was told ..it had sat in a warehouse for over 40 years..
The body is pretty decent except for the rear fenders that look like someone had taken a sledgehammer to them.
Since I plan on driving this car quite a bit, I have decided to run an air ride suspension while keeping a traditional look on the rest of the build. 007.JPG So, with that it mind, I will try to use as many parts that I already have to keep my budget down and get the car on the road.

Had the frame out in the drive way and it was rained on for a few minutes..
    Didn't take long for surface rust to accumulate ! 013 (2).JPG 014 (3).JPG 012 (3).JPG

I've had this little '58 - 283 that I've been sitting on for a while that I'm using as a power plant.

The right side fender is even worse... looks like someone was trying to stick weld fender skirts on the car..
After going back and forth...I've decided to stick with the patina on this car for a while since it still has most of the original paint... this is will be a first for me...being someone that likes shinny stuff.. 016.JPG

Get it straight first. After that; shiney is always an option!

  19. Nice work getting the fenders and running boards straightened out. Body seems to be in good hands. Keep it up, 36 coupes are always a favorite.

  20. Nice work on the fenders. Keep up the good work. I still regret selling my '36 5 window. I will be following this build.
