I tend to only use it inside panels and on new metal as a extra layer of protection(still gets primed and painted). I will say it does stop oxygen from reaching the metal and will make extra thin/swiss cheese metal rock hard(should only be used temporally temporarily on modern garbage and new metal should be used)

I have used it on multiple projects and never had an issue even every day driver cars and the salty winters in Wisconsin have not hurt it but you must follow the directions on how to use it. I sandblast then paint it on. So far none has failed and some of it is 15 years old. If you put seran wrap in the can when your done to seal the air out of the can it won't harden up on you.
