    Good choice on the FE! Looks like it fits pretty good, any issues with steering/exhaust?

    Thanks. No issues with the steering but the exhaust is a little tight.

    Worked on the Merc last Thursday. Installed the carb. I want to have it running by next weekend hopefully. Installed the steering column. Going to paint it Wimbledon White.

    Looking good! Years ago we put a 428 fe in my brothers 50 merc and we had to use a remote oil filter to make it fit.
    OOPS, just went looked at the pics again and saw you used a remote filter as well.

    Well here's another update on the Mercury. Rocker panels replaced, fender repaired, front end back on, wiring being done, and dash all painted.
