ok i have my mind set on a blown 401 buick nailhead for my build. influenced by the 34 that austin speed shop built, i fell in love with the look of that block and have to run a similar set up. I know its going to be expencive to build but im in no rush as long as i get their in the end. im looking for anyone who owns or has built a blown nailhead ? as i really would like to know on what setup and parts they have on their block, and as this will be my first ever engine build as much advice as i could get would be great.... But the biggest question i do have is who is the best supplier for parts as im stuck as to were to source the correct pistons to achive the right compression ? thanks anyone who replies.
Not too many blown Nailheads around. I have a few Nailheads and have been thinking about putting a blower on one, I will be watching this post. Good luck.
Yes it is. Some reading to get you started: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-official-nailhead-powered-thread.458117/
A departed friend ,Angelo Falzone , built a two piece intake to mount a 671 on his nailhead ,plus the drive and accessory mounts . That detailed powerplant was installed in Ray Nelson's 32 highboy. He can be reached at A&N Fabrication , Las Vegas
And here's the above mentioned nailhead in Ray's 32. There's a lot to know when you're going to use a Buick, but there's some good information out there if you look. Good luck.
