Does anyone have a solution to installing a fuel pump eccentric on a Hemi with la timing chain, there is nothing to keep the eccentric from rotating, has anyone used a different key way or modified one in some fashion to solve this?

trying to remember...think I slid the key part way in where it would still hold the thing & lock-tighted everything.

Yah the key seems to need to extend another 1/4 inch or so to work, but you can't slide the keyway at all, I thought about cutting the end of the cam and installing a longer key but not really sure I want to do that. I guess I should have mentioned its a desoto 341, not sure if any of them are different

Typical problem with the LA chain set although some folks seem to get by.
I just drill a hole in the face of the gear for a hardened still dowel. Use the eccentric as a guide for location and use a bearing retaining compound along with a press fit.
