So awesome! The trim rings make those wheels and tires.

Just stumbled on this one. I like the understated looks, stance and chop just right.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I'm a big fan of the "less is more" approach - especially when it comes to tinsel! "It's a hot rod not a Christmas tree!" :)

Another day, another magazine. Cover car this time! Congrats.
I might have to point a video camera at it sometime over summer if you were interested?
    Thanks.

Yeah I know - my car is turning into a real publicity slut!

I think I'll have to hide it away until summer cruising time - all this over-exposure might fade the paint!

So the hot rod has been running for a while now so I thought a wee update would be in order. So far everything has been working as it should and the old flathead hasn't missed a beat since getting rid of the Champion spark plugs and now running NGK plugs. Much better. :)

So here's some pics of the recent day at the local speedway track. Heaps of fun! :D

This build has been awesome to follow. Learned a lot... I almost feel guilt tripped into doing a build thread now, haha.
    Car looks amazing

Thanks for the kind words guys. Not much happening lately with it being winter - keeping warm in front of the fire planning my next project. Still I've managed to clock up a few fun miles in the hot rod since my last post.
Might make a few minor changes to the car - perhaps a one piece louvered aluminum hood and finally build those lake pipes maybe. But first I need to look into why that pesky gearbox is popping out of second when I lift off the gas pedal! Guess I'll just have to keep my foot hard down......:D

    Hi Christom
I have been following your build thread and that is a great looking coupe, this may not be any help but if your gearbox has had new bearings the snap rings on the new bearings are thinner than the originals leading to excess play, mine when I measured the new ones were only 0,065" and should have been 0.075" this may not sound a lot but it does allow the shaft to move back and forth in the gearbox mount and can lead to it jumping out of gear, I used a pair of good original ford snap rings.

Does the breather lean toward the firewall? I was under the impression one needed to modify the breather to lean away from the firewall so cutting was not necessary. I'm new to the AV8 thing too.
