They are rare over here...especially as 4 doors. I have a 2 door where i am only starting the work you already progressed so far... Mine is an old race car an will be brought back to functional Panamericana style...wish I was as advanced with the project as you are...

the valve cover gaskets, I bought last year have been a little bit to short (10cm) so I had no other chance than cutting new once by myself

I noticed the original vacuum wiper motor: now that you've changed to 12volt electrics, you might consider changing to electric wipers for reliability. Many years ago (same problem) I unbolted the vacuum motor , bolted on a 1956 chevrolet electric wiper motor (mounting screws & linkage connection are the same), attached the Lincoln control cable, attached the wiper motor power-wire to the electrical system. Result : reliable wipers operated from the original control on the dashboard. Other vehicles may have the same wiper motor. I hope this helps.

Hi @all I have a question to the "Lincoln Guru´s" here at the HAMB. I´m searching for dropped spindels for my `54. Does anyone of you know where to find them??? A little bit longer ago I found some pictures of a customized `54 that had some dropped spindels and disk brakes. At the moment I´m collecting the parts for the disk brakes. I´ll use E-150 disks and 99 Camaro callipers.

If I´m wright, this `54 has the dropped spindels. Maybe some of you know this car and can help me to get contact to the owner ???

I think that's Rob and Debbie Butler's Lincoln. She used to be here on the HAMB, under LincolnLady, or similar name.

Nice job on the restoration. I had one identical to yours a couple of years ago. Keep up the good work....

  19. Still watching. Wish mine had front fender air ducts as nice as yours.

I bought a '57 368 out of an original car with A/T attached. It's the Ford not GM tranny.

I would've gone with '55 exhaust manifolds to eliminate the crossover and get duals. Fortunately the '57 engine came with those manifolds, 12v starter & generator, spin-on oil filter, Carter carb and a paper element air filter with a fresh air duct to the radiator header.

I found a Mexican VIN tagged '55 Lincoln. It has heater delete pieces. I might have to see if I can get those in the future. How it landed on the east coast of USA baffles me. It's a rusty piece of junk.

Love the work your doing, those valve covers and air cleaner are great. I like the stance and the mods to the fenderskirts. One thing tho, and its just my opion, but the wheel combination (painted w/spiders) just doesn't go with the stately Linclon. Choose a nice set of wheel covers instead. You have the ability to phtochop.....try it.

    I'll be following this one.

  24. I'd like to see some updates on this project. Especially interested in the wiring.

As for the disc brakes. I'd try some Carbon/Kevlar friction material on those stock 12" dia. shoes before I went to all that trouble. Try Porterfield Brakes, they are on the west coast, OR or WA. I told one of my buds about them. He tried their stuff and it works.

I latched onto a BIG JOB Rated Ford truck intake manifold from a HAMBer. It'll accept the dual float Holley with no adapter plate and bolt right on any of these Lincoln Y-blocks.

I've also located a truck bell housing, flywheel that'll bolt on the Lincoln engine. Just might have to make mine a 4-speed!!!

AND I bought another '54 Lincoln 2-dr hardtop. Have to go pick it up. It's about two hours away.

On an earlier post I seen you rebuilt your front end. Did you replace the ball joints? If so, where did you get them???
    Thanks in advance

Hi coolbreezel, no I didn´t replaced the ball joints ´cause I found them at ebay.com and they were "a little bit" to expencive and mine looked good.

  28. So, that's just over $1,000 for just ball joints! OUCH!! All the more reason to do the screw in Chrysler screw in ball joint conversion.
Still not cheap, but here's Kanter's complete front end kit: https://www.kanter.com/productdetai...&CategoryID=39&ProductCode=182&Router=Catalog

Long time ago since my last post and by the way.....I was a little bit "tired" and not so many things happened to the old lady. I moved to another place with the Lincoln and I only made some small things. I frenched the antenna, built the fender skirts, stripped the paint of the fenders, hood and the trunk and got new plans for the steering, the brakes and the exhaust

    startet with the fender skirts
