[/ATTACH] 20130629_135141.jpg Got a lot of mockup done this week, motor mounts finished but I am not sure if the steering shaft will clear the headers. Also may be to hot for the coupling joint.

Is steering box mounted a little high? Use a flat pitman arm (to move box lower) instead of what appears to be a dropped pitman arm in first picture.
I use a similar set up using a 525 manual box on the OFT for past 8 years (with SBC). With lakes style headers and a BBC the 6 years before that.

I agree on dropping the steering box by using a flat pitman arm. Also, great choice on the Transmission. I got my 700R4 from Monster and it's been bulletproof.

Ditch the block huggers. Use lakes-style out the sides. Or if you absolutely must have under-car exhaust consider ram's horns. Easier than relocating steering.

20140816_102740.jpg Thanks for all of the ideas. I do have a flat pitman arm. I lowered the box a little and ground a small notch in the exhaust flange and it works.

Good thought on looking at inside wood for top. Beat's looking at chicken wire by a long shot!

Wondering what parts you used on the front end besides the Welder series crossmember.
    I need a similar setup.

    Hello Banginona40,
I got all of the front end parts from Kenny's Rod and Kustom. The axle is a Super Bell and GM disk brakes.
They gave me a great package price and were great to deal with. Let me know if you need anything else.

20140413_072303-1.jpg 20140413_072320-1.jpg Took the car for a short drive to get the bugs out. All went well, the SBC ran great. I think I have enough power for this little car. I plan on driving it 500 miles for testing. I want to make sure I like it before I tear it down for paint.
