I tried to do this back in the '60's with Buick rims and late (49-51) Ford centers. The centers were about 1/8" bigger around than the ID of the hoops, so they didn't fit together at all. Did you run into this problem, or are the earlier centers just a better fit?

    You guys are funny! :D

The 15" early centers fit great. I've never tried '49-'51 centers with Buick hoops, I just wanted the early centers for the 5.5" BP, looks, and '40-'48 cap fitment.

Man, what has the world come to when folks are using cleavage to promote a tech article. Seems like PROGRESS to me:D! Great looking wheels. They look so much nicer than the catalogue variety available today.

57-59 buick wheels will work.. There is a catch.. Not all of the 57-59 buick wheels are the same ..The wheels need to be 6"wide, some are 5.5" wide.. Some had riveted centers, some had welded centers... There are also 3 different sized centers... 12 1/2" 12 5/8" &12 3/4"

The wheels with the welded centers seemed to be the 15x5.5" wheels....
Just do your homework before you start buying wheels...

Guess how I found all this out!?!??

I'm running 49-51 merc centers & they have 12 5/8" centers....... I haven't married the two yet, hopefully my math is right-
