A Seattle area newbie saying hello. Currently reviving dad's old Buick Roadmaster after 30 years in storage. Have original Fireball Eight 320 running again and am working on cooling system now. Then brakes and some windshield time
So it's getting close to road time. Have rebuilt dual action pump, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, replaced brake soft lines, boiled and pressure tested radiator, exchanged water pump, installed new freeze plugs and flushed block, bead blasted all front engine components and manifolds then primed and painted them and lowered the car. Need to blast stock wheels and paint them red then get some WW's Getting closer... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
First time on the road in 31 years was yesterday 8/9/14. Simple shake down test drive, then a couple small adjustments and finally some time at the local burger stand on a Saturday night. Rides and runs great all stock OEM and we're keeping it that way. It survived 64 years without being cut up so it's earned the chance to stay factory original as is. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. The car has been in my family for decades and I've revived it in my mothers name 'Marilyn'. She used to drive it to work occasionally when I was a kid and she passed away almost two years ago. My dad has no idea that I am restoring it with moms name so I am surprising him next weekend with a quick cruise for the memory banks and the trunk lettered up with his Navy tattoo of my mom going to be so cool I can hardly wait...
