Back when the earth was still cooling, I aquired a Moonjection 6 Carb on a log manifold setup for my Hemi. Life being what it is, I didn't install it right away, and the bad press started, less than perfect computers, pain in the ass to dial in etc etc. Long story short, car's running a 4 Bbl. but I like the concept, it looks fantastic, but if it don't work.... it don't work. I read the string of responses, dating back to 2005 or so, with little encouragement. Since time has passed, wondering if any of my fellow HAMBers have found a solution, or is it all bad PR. One friend suggested contacting FAST and seeing if they could retro fit?? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Fast EZ EFI should run it fine. They sell a retrofit kit, computer, harness and wide band o2 sensor for $900 ish. I have it on my 454 running a holley multiport system, Ran like a swiss watch from the first turn of the key, and it self tunes.

I still run the Moonjection on my roadster, probably only one of a very few. I have 15,000 miles on my engine. Three computers and a custom program and it runs fantastic. The benefit for me over carbs is that I live in the mountains and frequently drive at different altitudes which can be as high as 10,000 feet above sea level. The closed loop system compensates for this just as if a modern engine. The flathead requires its own fuel curve which is different from OHV motors in that it seems to like more fuel for any given set of parameters.
Autotrend makes a similar 97 style carburetor but uses the ACCEL EFI computer. Ive added a link below. I don't think I would have gone this route if I knew then what I know now but I learned quite a bit. I can honestly say I would never again purchase anything from professional products, powerjection or Ken Farrell. Absolutely no product support.

I have a friend who is running 8 of them on a blown Pontiac and it was a long painful road to getting it running well.

He ended up changing the computer for something that was more adjustable and it is ok now - I am pretty sure he ended up using a LINK controller, but not 100% sure.

that's what the hands on do it yourself guys use. Requires you to learn how it works, but then you can do whatever you want with it.

I acquired that system when it had been bought by Retrotek Speed from Mooneyes. I've yet to run it as this build is taking longer than anticipated! It's no longer made by them however the computer is programmable with lots of parameters. Professional Products acquired Retrotek Speed and now market EFI systems.

  11. I have the Retrotek setup on the 392 hemi in my '51. I was an early purchaser during the time when Retrotek was taking over the product from Mooneyes. It is on an 8 deuce U-fab type manifold. It took several years and three computers from Retrotek, but it runs fine now. It is the self tuning version of the software/firmware with a wide band o2 sensor. I have an MSD programable distributor. That was part of my getting it to work right, even though the devices do not work together. This car is my summertime every day driver. It was a lot of work and persistance getting there, but since the last several years, it has been trouble free. I am happy I kept at it until it was working fine. I know nothing about the new company owner, or what is currently being marketed.

There was a article in the August 1985 Hot Rod about a Hilborn injected Chevette
    on the street.
September 1986 Pat Ganahl wrote about a Dodge pick up with stacked injection on the street.
Good reading if you can get them.

Like moonlight graham, I live in the mountains and my Mooneyes EFI equipped banger was great. When Ken was at Moon, he was very responsive, not so much at Retrotek. Sold it to an east coast HAMBer as EFI was not allowed at FAST events.
