  1. Wow! Great build. Good job keeping things simple and clean.

What are the dimensions of your frame jig?

I got a little more done on the roadster this weekend. I made two bullnoses to finish off the beads, and finished cut the arch.

Now I started working on finishing up the subrails. They are a continuation of the factory style subrails. My dad and I invested in some sheetmetal tools, and one of them is a shrinker/stretcher. I got both sides all bent up and fitted to the frame. The driver side is all welded up and almost finished.

They are made in two pieces. The side that follows the wheelwells is flanged down and will be spot welded to the wheelwell (just like ol' henry would've done). I will machine some bushings that will be welded to the subrails that will serve as the body mounts.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I haven't been working too hard on this thing lately. I took a week or so to get my 32 sedan ready for the Billetproof Eruption Drags, and had a ball. Dan Sullivent photo.

I did get a piece of tubing bent and welded up to help keep the b pillars where they are and strengthen the seat back location. 108 1" welds later, the tubing fit the car and then was welded in.

Next, I built some toeboard pieces that tie into the firewall.

As I type this my current project is the dash. I had a 32 pickup dash that I couldn't sell, so I'm making it look like a 32 roadster dash.

I can't wait to see the finished dash installed. This is the type of "make do" building I really enjoy.

I always liked the look of rear mount gauges, like stock 32's or auburn's. I had this SW script 32 speedo and some industial no light SW gauges. They all had similar coffin type needles, so I figured they would look good together.

I got my head wrapped around how to make the front mount gauges into rear mount. I got that figured out and then made a engine turned insert.
