My '40 is for sure a beater. It's my daily from may into November , and I use it for nearly everything . Just this week it has hauled 600 pounds of blasting media, and brought home this Harley my kid just had to have.

It's my first car and has a bunch of miles on it. It's on it's second engine and transmission now. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1406776255.833219.jpg

Now that you mention it, I guess everything I've ever owned or built has been a beater. Even the one car (an OT Corvette) that I spent the time and money to make as perfect as my abilities would allow went into daily all weather service immediately. I just can't do the build it, stare at it in the garage, take it to a show thing. I'm more a built it, wear it out enjoying it, and build it again kind of person.

Here's my 1946 Studebaker truck hard at work. I've put 28,000 miles on and it's still going strong.

  12. My '56 Ford "Dream Lover" has now been up and down 8 States and 2 Provinces now in the past five years. It has moved around with me and has seen me turn from a boy into a man (still a man-child though). I met my girlfriend in it and hope to marry her in it one day. I got it just after I finished high school so it has been with me from the beginning of me growing up (LOL not really grown up). I have driving it back and fourth to most of the jobs and university I have done with it. She has been driving in rain, hail, snow, sleet, ice, salt, etc. I could never imagine not driving the shit out of her. She has been street raced, cruised, done donuts, burnouts, skids, and everything in between. I love her to death and cannot count the amount of shit I have had piled into her at one time. I have met so many HAMBers and other friends along the way. I have gotten jobs because of the car and learned 70-85% of what I know about cars from working on it/fixing it. She's just a beat up old car with a couple mild kustom touches. Currently she is down getting a powertrain swap but I am trying my best to have the car done for the Jalopy Jam Up.
