Event Coverage 2014 Salina, Kansas KKOA Lead Sled Show

I'm excited to see friends arrive here for the "hottest show in the Midwest" and yes I am talking about the weather.
The first one of my buddies to arrive here at the Flats was my pal Frank from Texas in his 56 Chevy.
This car has the most gorgeous all white interior...

 

Next up was my pal Gasserlouie of Lincoln, Nebraska in his well known 55 Chevy.

 

After getting our cars registered for the event which starts with a kickoff party and cruise tonight (Thursday) we were joined back home by the arrival of famed automobile photographer Dan Greenburg of Colorado who also brought a nice gift for me and Mrs. PF.
One of his big coffee table books.

Not long after this, legendary traveler Bob K of northern Wisconsin showed up at my house after driving 868 in one day by himself in his iconic 52 Chevy convertible and the great man was hungry !
So we took care of that problem right away.

 

Sorry for the double posting, I'm not used to this new format at all.

 

Mrs. PF had some blueberry pie alamode waiting for us so we could all have a "light snack" before bedtime.

 

The cars were put to bed and after a good night of conversation we all went to rest as well.

 

I can't seem to get the photos right.
Dammit.
Anyway, I will take a small group of friends on a vintage salvage yard tour today.
I might post some photos of that later tonight.

That is one sweet ride, great to see he is willing to hit the road with it. Quite a days drive too.

 

your food pictures are worthy of double posting! Having lived in MN for ten years in my checkered past, I miss good country cooking!! And of course your car pics are great too but most of all glad to see you posting again because I like your narratives.

Nice photos and story. Dang, we were in Salina on the 2nd and stayed over night on the way to Park City the next morning for a family reunion. We got there early in the day after a burger stop in Smith Center at Jiffy Burger. We were off the main trail then but enjoying the Kansas two lanes.

 

The fun drags are going right now.. East on Crawford and rt into the rec area where they are held... party later on sante fe

My guess is, it's so hot the cameras don't work. 105 degrees! Ms. Rockable says she is not sorry we missed it. I am.
