How are these hoods being held down without the sides? I see this looks like one piece but do I have to strap mine down? I want to keep the top of mine on my 28 sedan and blast a header out the side of my banger. Sorry if this has been covered, cant seem to find it.

My friend has webbed straps with rings on the ends and uses the Ford hood hold downs

I see criss crossed bungie cords a lot. They are hidden under the hood.

  7. The picture you posted has the Hagan street rod hinges that will raise the top from ether side,,they are ugly and a PITA.

When I ran just the hood tops on my Model A I initially used a screen door spring run from one side of the hood to the other.

I later used a stainless steel spring latch. HRP

  12. The hood on my 30 will used Dzus fasteners, as soon as I fabricate the brackets. You just can see the brackets in the pic at the front and rear of the hood. They have the Dzus spring wires riveted to the backs. 000_2079.JPG

  13. Actually, I just googled Dzus fasteners. They've been around since the 30's, so would be period correct for your car.

Bungie cords secure my A hood just fine.

  15. Bungies front and rear work good.

  17. Actually plastic jugs put there to keep dust out of the Scott stacks. I live in farming country. Gravel roads and farm fields all around me.
