Sorry for your loss. Its been four years and seven months since I lost my Dad. It knocked the wind out of my sails. I just shut down. Im slowly starting to get back into my projects.

 

Losing your Dad is like losing part of yourself. Thank God we have memories that are our own private theater where you can see all the great things from the past that made your Dad such a special person in your life and your theater does numerous reruns on demand. Remember how fortunate you have been to have had this special guy in your life, something that some guys never experienced God Bless !..

Words alone cannot make the pain go away but at times it's all we have to offer. Whatever you are experiencing right now - just remember your kids will someday go through the same experience of losing their father if everything works out right. Make their life experience as great as it was with you and your dad and a great Cochran father/son/daughter legacy will live on. Prayers are incredibly powerful - ask any believer - I hope you feel the magnitude of every believer on this thread who sent prayers. God is close to the brokenhearted.

 

It is a hard loss, my sympathies to you and yours.

 

So sorry to hear this. My dad died and it was an unspeakable loss. A part of me was lost and died that day, but at the same time I was so glad I had a dad that hung around for me and gave so much of his time and life for me. Sounds like your dad was that kind of man and for that I am glad and I am sure you are grateful as well!

Ryan, I'm so very sorry to hear about your fathers passing. It's obvious in some of your posts your dad was very influential in your life. I'm sure you will see a lot of your father in yourself in the coming years. Ryan, from reading different posts over the years, that included tidbits about your Dad, I had certainly picked up on how much you loved that man. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the hurt you and your family are going through.

I lost the father of a very close friend from high school 3 years ago. He was like a 2nd father to me. He taught me a lot about cars, hot rods, racing and even every day life. I am teary eyed just typing this as I still miss him so damn much.

Grieve and help comfort your loved ones in the mean time.
