Anyone got pics of a 36 dash in a model A

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by nailhead29A, Jul 13, 2014.

  1. As the title says, I've searched and searched and can't really find much in the way of pics. Going to be installing my dash later next week and would really like to know how some of you guys have gone about this install.
    Thanks in advance..

I think I took both off this site. I was playing with the idea myself

  6. I'm thinking about the EXACT same thing for the Tudor! Just lovely!

  7. Here is a 37 Dash in my 30 Roadster. I moved it forward of the dash rail. My body is Channeled and I needed leg room. This let me lift the steering column angle some. I'm running a 40 steering box and didn't want to modify the column drop. I cut the top off the dash and made a new flange facing the windshield and bolted in using the Gas Tank bolt holes. I'm building new end pieces curving forward to the A post. The Glove box opens just fine and with the Roadster dash rail trim on it looks right at home. Being it's Flathead powered I'll run all stock gauges as well as mount the starter button back where it belongs in the new corner piece.

  15. Got my dash mounted, just a little finishing work to do. Pie cut the top and changed the radius to suit the shape of the A window opening, cut the original ends off and extended the dash slightly to fit between the A posts as well. Pretty happy with the result, think these dashes were made for the model A, they look perfect in my opinion. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1412762950.525382.jpg

  16. How are you going to get the glove box open with the steering column and wheel in the way? :D:D

Looks really good in there. I have a plan for a 36 dash in a Model A for the next project.

  17. I used 59 Chevy gauges in my 36 tudor. Used the Ford bezels with 59 speedo temp an fuel. Idiot lights for the volt and oil. 36 is the nicest dash out there

It's been a long time between drinks with work and family life etc, but I've finally got my arse into gear and am Back into the car again. Finally finished off the dash I started ages ago. Filled the panel that usually has large holes in it where the bottom of the window frame seats as well to clean things up a bit. Dash complete, glad to be back into it again. Looking for an ash tray and waterfall as well if someone has one they want to sell..
