LOL, mocking up the rear to get the front to fit right is something I would do! Looks great, you just need the right license frame for that plate...

This surpasses all my '36 dreams! I used to pet Tommy the Greek's Phaeton, settled for chopping my '36 Three window...

But 'The Chicken was NEVER like this'... -Bacon Fat, by Big Daddy and his Boys, 1954

    ...THAT cool.

    What have you been smoking?

The original stance for this thing RULED!

Agree.... so I took the liberty and slightly photoshopped Jimmy's wonderful original illustration.
I guess my version is still a little to low. But I did not wanted to get to radical away from the original illustration.

I could not find a suitable custom hubcap in one of Jimmy's other illustrations that I could use (I think it needs single bar flipper hubcaps or something similar). So I just enlarged the hubcaps from the original illustration to make "full" hubcaps.

    And with skirts...

Well, I find myself looking through your thread about the So Cal Plating inspired 36 and find I must be truthful about your version of the car. I can't honestly say that I like it. No I don't like it, I absolutely freakin' LOVE it!
Can't wait to see you get back on the build, seeing this car finished will be a 'fair dinkum' treat, keep up the awesome work mate!

    Doc.

  28. Well shit. Made it to the end. No more posts to read........
Sooooooo, you need some help? I need a bus ticket. Can't help much on the metal fab....but I can work on your house !! Whatever it takes....to see you back on your inspired Special.
You are building an amazing car...... and I wish I had something more original and inspiring then what has been said.....but you have heard it all. Keep it up !
As gorgeous as yours is turning out....I still can't believe the original just disappeared. It probably has no Carson top, and someone is cruising around with what they think is a Duvall screened Phaeton of sorts.....or maybe it is just plain gone. We will never know......but in posterity....your version is just as inspiring, and beautiful.
Thanks for the posts to date. I hope you finish what you started soon enough. Take care sir !
