As a Brit exiled out in the colonies, I need my fix of stuff from back home.
So you slackers, put your pints down, step away from the "full English", have just one less run up the sand will you, and post some bloody pictures for us.
Hope everyone is having a blast, setting records (you can do it Chris!) and being safe.
I will be there in 2016 and running a T Gow Job! Counting the days down ;)
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

OK, I am totally sure it is this weekend. My buddy, Chris and his son, Dan are doing safety tech.
I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve :)
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

  5. I'm sure I'll get an update from Steve Hill when he gets home from Pendine. I'm hoping the old red car remembered how to win!

  6. If you're on Instagram, I'm uploading a bunch of pics. Look up @Brootal or #pendinesands and you'll find it.
Dean - your old car is running strong and is a big hit. It's in good hands. :)
Here's a few pics for a quick fix.

Now, that looks like a he'll of a good time!
I'm not used to seeing British blue skies. Based on my visits, it sure is quite odd....

  9. Shitty pic taken off the back of my camera with the car at speed. Not sure how fast it ran, but any car that cracked 100mph was doing very well.

    My Pendine.

    What a great weekend.

I'll start by saying thanks to Neil and the sidewinders for putting on a fantastic weekend of racing. The weather held good, better than good even, it was great.

The trip down went well, except for a couple of problems. I had a vicious circle of things going on. A dynamo that won't charge unless the engine is revving. A battery that wasn't as good as I thought it was, no fan (whoops!) and a predeliction for my sat nav to only send me up roads less than 8 foot wide. Anyway after a couple of U-turns due to getting too hot in traffic, and a bump start due to a flat battery after getting stuck behind a herd of cows it was a good trip down. Getting a bit wet didn't even register on the scale.

Saturday went well for Old Rusty. My two runs were really scary. The track seemed looser and more squirrely than I remember from last year. I ran a 96 point something and a 97 point something. I was a little disappointed that I hadn't hit the ton, but when I found I had ran faster than the other two cars that ran faster than me last year I was as pleased as punch. Lots of people were saying the track was a little slower than last year. I would go along with that. For me at least it was more scary than could be accounted for by bumping my speed from 94 last year to 97 this.

The very generous and ever helpful Kev Cattell gave me his spare battery and this solved my problems on that side. Big thanks for that, Kev.

Sundays track was (for me, at least) more confidence inspiring and I gave it death on both of my runs. The car was running good and I honestly couldn't have driven it faster. I did feel a strong crosswind at about 3/4 track but was able to gently countersteer to compensate. Not wanting to do anything sudden at the end I seemed to just go sailing on into unmarked territory and I think I only saw one other set of tyre marks that far down the beach.

I eagerly await Sunday's times to be published.

I took a few snaps and will attach them here, but I just wanted to say thanks again to everybody that worked really hard to to put on such a great event.

Totally epic weekend. Definitely the best turn out of traditional rods n customs anywhere.
To top that they were all racing on the same beach that saw the likes of Campbell and Thomas set land speed records back in the twenties. They were setting some serious times too.

Great pics Mart, didn't get to meet you at the weekend unfortunately. Love the Pic of me and Beverly waiting for her run down the beach in the Zephyr.
