Good luck or fate, I just found my very first car on "That Auction Site", plan to look at it tomorrow, and leave a deposit. Seller sounds like a great guy that is willing to work with me on the deal. I sold it in 1972, and nothing on the car got better with age, this isn't a thought out deal, PURE emotion! If you see some of my stuff in the classified section, it will be joined with a lot more, make offers, I need help. Bob

Very cool, good luck with it. My first car was a 55 Chevy, last seen on a flatbed, with the top cut off, headed to the crusher. That was after a really nice 57 Bel Air ran through the passenger side of it.
Hope you can get yours back.

  3. So......what was your first car?

No wires what so ever! Ford made 15 million of these. I'm loading "That Site" with every non HAMB friendly item I have, next is the Coldwell Twin engine. Bob

Please post some pre-72 pics and current pics once you get it. Sounds like the beginning of a cool thread build. Good luck and congratulations.,

  13. Now I'm curious (yellow)...

  14. Good for you. You will probably pay to much for it, but its got sentimental value so it doesn't matter.
You are going to finish it if you get it .......right?

Good luck. Found my first car after many years and it was tough negotiating the price to buy back. The car had only changed hands twice and the owner recognized my name, so he knew it was my first car. Still paid to much for it when I bought it back but also have never regretted it either.

I have been realy lucky. After 51 years my 1st car is still in my garage.Various people have tried to buy it in the last 51 years and i tell them i am going to restore it some day. Well after buying 5 flathead blocks that was craked i junked them all and decided not to restore but to make a street rod and i am doing it. About ready for paint and interior.

IMG_1864.JPG IMG_3053.JPG I have bought a few of my old cars back over the years. The most recent was my Chopped 37 Chevy sedan. It was gone 11 years and took me a few of those years searching on craigslist and running down leads. I finally found it and did buy it back. My kids logged a lot of miles in the back seat and even drove it in their teen years. Now my grandsons are taking their turn. Love having it back. Go for it--good for you--we sold our 57 Fuely in 84 after having it for 6 yrs for more pressing obligations. My wife bought it back in 2001 and we redid it again--probably was not cost effective but it's home again.

  29. Bob isn't that your first car you have been working on all these years in the basement?

  30. Ford made 15 million? So it's a T?
