  1. The best "In Color" history lesson I've viewed in years.

    Thank you!

incredible pics. thanks for sharing. its interesting to see the gold camaro funny car with a vinyl top and stretched nose and factory styled painted nose.. (today all the character would be stripped off and streamlined to a blob of a shape). great to see a variety of body styles. I thought the black 55 with corvette caps was a great looking street car.

These are some of the best 60s drag racing pictures that I have ever seen.

Nickam82- What a fantastic collection of photos. It brought back a lot of memories from my days of racing a D/Gas 55 Chevy in the mid sixties. THANK YOU so much for all the considerable time and effort yin posting the photos. It has been supremely interesting to many, many members on the HAMB, as verified by their compliments.

You're very welcome to everybody who has thanked me for putting these up! I'm happy to see this thread is still alive. I've told Mac he should get a hot rod again but he says he has no room for one, although whenever I mention it you can tell the wheels are turning in his head :D:cool:

  20. Lots of good pictures from Connecticut Dragway. Stan Adams from Oakdale, Connecticut white Fiat with flames, and his matching push truck

  21. Me, being 78 years old really appreciates these photos. They bring back memories for me. I was at Connecticut Drag way on opening day, and had to put up with the bullshit attitude of the Connecticut State Police. Yes I got a ticket for loud pipes on my 1949 Oldsmobile Coupe.

  22. Thanks for the memories. Yes, by far, the best photo posting that I have ever seen.

I don't know how I missed this thread but I agree with others the photos are great and really bring back an era that is sadly history. I copied some into a file so I could look at them later when I need a smile. No wonder we liked and continue to like this era.

Just saw this. I must say, for those wanting to get a project "period correct", take notes from these pictures. The locations were different for me but the racing was the same. What a great thread.
