Man, this car is sweet! It looks fast just sitting still. Great find.

Certain things make progress seem "real". A rolling chassis is a big milestone! Attaboy and keep the updates coming.

3W 1978 FRTQRTR.jpg 3W 1978 REAR QRTR.jpg 3W 1978 SIDEVIEW.jpg Dennis, look what I found! I was 19 when I bought this deuce in Sioux City for $200 in 1978. Sorry about pic quality, though, 126 film was not noted for best usage. This is as I picked it up with title, before I started the teardown. Randy Milligan and I unchanneled it as the floor was intact, tacked it together and started stripping the body of nasty paint and bondo. At that point, it looked like too much bodywork for me so I bought a nice 5 window body for the chassis, got it to primer, and then sold it to buy a Gibbon roadster body. ( the stupidity of youth...lol) Looks like you are moving along well with the old girl though, I would love to have finished pics when it is done to make a framed story of it...

Dennis, I grew up in Sioux City as well but I wasnt born till '61 but I'll check with my uncle, he's was in the Strollers Car Club in the '50's there, he might know. I think T-Man knows some people from that area as well. Malcolm, didnt Ron Stephen have a really nice '40 Ford pick up called "Poor Man's Pride". I use to watch him race stock cars in that area back in the day!

  19. DiabloMann,
That would be great if you could check with your uncle.......Thanks

Here are some photo's of the 3w progress. Man, the cowl lid I sent you home with sure worked out nice. Pays off being a pack rat of 32 parts.
